School Description

University of Sunderland's history dates back from the year 1901 when it first opened as the Sunderland Technical College. The institution has later gone through a lot of changes from its name to operations, even becoming a college exclusive to women at one point from 1922 to 1959. Until finally, in 1992, it achieved university status as the University of Sunderland to represent the academic growth it has seen over the years.

Today, University of Sunderland has two campuses in Sunderland and one in London to better provide quality higher education to nearly 19,500 students of over 50 nationalities. The University of Sunderland is composed of four academic departments through which it offers over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in nearly 30 subject areas in applied sciences, arts, design and media, business, law, and education and society.
