School Description

Newcastle University can trace its history back 1834. Since then it has established a reputation for research excellence and quality teaching. It offers nearly 600 bachelor's and master's degree programs in a wide selection of subject areas ranging from accounting and finance, architecture, business, computer science, dentistry, earth science, education, engineering, fine arts, history, law, medicine, and many others. 

Newcastle University requires prospective international students to have a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 and a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale before being admitted into the university. However, those who do not meet this criteria can still apply to an INTO Newcastle University Pathway program, which includes International Foundation Programs in: Architecture, Biological & Biomedical Sciences, Business & Management, Humanities & Social Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering; International Year One Programs in: Architecture, and Business; Graduate Diplomas in Architecture, and Business & Humanities; and English Courses.

            I've studied in business school, The infrastructure provided by university was excellent, library open for 24 hours, staff are warm and helpful. The quality of lecturer are good, I really enjoy studying here, especially the city are compact and reachable. Everything can be reached for about 10 - 15 minutes walk.

            Excellent university in a brilliant city

            I studied at Newcastle University from 1999 to 2005 - completing both my undergraduate degree in agriculture and a PhD in animal production science. I loved living in Newcastle, the people, the shops, the nightlife... I can honestly say that they were 7 of the best years of my life. I knew when I first visited Newcastle that it was the uni for me - the clear skies and cool chill in the air combined with just enough hustle and bustle for a teenager itching to get away from home. The campus itself is beautiful with awe inspiring architecture in a location close enough to pop out to go shopping or for a pub lunch. Newcastle has a long history in Agriculture and it was very special to study at a university with such history combined with two amazing University farms invested in research and development.
