California State University - Monterey Bay - Pathway

California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), located just one mile from the shores of the scenic Monterey Bay in the state of California in the United States offers first Year Seminar to help students launch their college careers. They prepare students to succeed by providing personal attention and mentoring in various departments such as Business; Education; Extended Education and International Programs; Health Sciences and Human Services; and Science.

School Description

California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) was founded in 1994 on the former Fort Ord Army Base by local educators and community leaders. On Sept 4, 1995, President Bill Clinton helped to inaugurate the campus as the twenty-first campus in the Cal State University system.

Today California State University, Monterey Bay is building on the legacy it was founded on by exploring innovative ways to meet the needs of a new generation of students while simultaneously powering the Monterey County economy. California State University Monterey Bay has a campus that is ‘just the right size’ allowing its faculty to get to know their students on an individual basis. About half of all students live on campus, making it one of the most residential universities in the California State University (CSU).

Includes instruction in diagnosing learning disabilities, developing individual education plans, teaching and supervising special education students, special education counseling, and applicable laws and policies.

    The CSUMB Secondary Education Teacher Credential Program prepares students to teach in a Middle School or High School setting and obtain a California Preliminary Secondary Education Teaching Credential.

    A program that is a structured combination of the arts, biological and physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities, emphasizing breadth of study. Includes instruction in independently designed, individualized, or regular programs.
