Zen moments and a preparation for lifelong learningAs a member of the Whittier Scholars program I was exposed to things I would have never learned in a more traditional educational setting. I distinctly remember being impressed by classmates who presented topics and points of view so foreign to my own way of thinking that I experienced moments Zen-like awakening. From these moments, along with the opportunity to learn more about myself as well as the world around us I became prepared as a lifelong learner, a journey that continues to this day.
