Real education in a real setting

I knew all my professors and they knew me- I even knew several professors from which I never took a class. Class size was significantly smaller and the interest in teaching was evident by the care and preparation of the professors- they were there to teach because it is a great location and educational format. The town was also very supportive. By far, it was the best educational experience for me with classes that ranged from eight to 60 students. I had an experience in town at the grocery store when one of my professors checked in with me to make sure I 'got it' that day (it was obvious to him I did not)- he wrote it out on a box of Cheerios and then had to buy that cereal. That pretty much summed up the caring nature of the staff and school. It was money well spent that benefits me even after working for over 35 years. ...and I certainly learned a ton about skiing, hunting, fishing and being self sufficient- also quite handy even after over 35 years!

Great experience in a beautiful location!

Western was a great college for me, in that, I didn't feel like a number, the professors knew my name, we could ask questions directly, and it was up to me to learn or not. I loved the outdoor recreation and beauty in Gunnison/Crested Butte which helped balance school stress:) I highly recommend Western!

Great education in a great location.

I began my teaching career thoroughly prepared because of my education at Western State. The foundation I received there helped me become an educational leader and played into my future success as I continued my education.
