1968-1972, Political Science
Wesleyan did not teach me how to excel under someone else's rules. Wesleyan taught me how to create my own rules, live by them, and make a difference. This iconoclastic tradition apparently continues. I heard President Roth in 2008 say to the graduating class that, if they went to Wesleyan to make a lot of money, they made a mistake. Wesleyan was not, and is not, a cookie-cutter, follow-the-same-rules, don't-make-waves career preparation institution. It is a radical, rule-busting, creating, thrilling place to go to school.
1988-1990, MALS, Fine art and art appreciation
Obtaining my masters from Wesleyan was one of the best decisions I ever made. I appreciated that I could customize my curriculum and take classes that applied to my career and interests. The professors were outstanding as was the facilities and administration. I highly recommend the graduate studies program at Wesleyan.M
1987-1991, Bachelor of Arts
There is always an enormous temptation in all of life to diddle around making itsy-bitsy friends and meals and journeys for itsy-bitsy years on end ... I won't have it. The world is wider than that in all directions, more dangerous and bitter, more extravagant and bright." writes Annie Dillard. Wesleyan helps you get there.
