Vanderbilt University is a medium research university in Tennessee. The university is named after the rail tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt is made up of four undergraduate schools, and six graduate and professional schools.

School Description

One of the famous alumni of Vanderbilt University is Al Gore. The school of medicine at Vanderbilt was responsible for discovering new methods of cultivating viruses in order to produce vaccines against illnesses such as chicken pox, small pox, yellow fever and typhus.
