UWEC gave me everything I needed to achieve my goals of being admitted to a fine law school and, later, becoming a successful lawyer. I went beyond my wildest dreams, actually. It's all about fit, I think, and UWEC was the right fit for this honor student from a very small Wisconsin high school. I was challenged and grew steadily, and that combination wins the race. Now, some 40 years later, I have no regrets at all that I didn't do my undergraduate work at a prestigious national university (which was an option available to me). I wouldn't change a thing. The proof is in the pudding, as it were.

            2003-2005, MBA

After receiving an MBA degree at UW-EC my career literally took off. Having been equipped with increased business acumen, I was effectively positioned to take on expanded leadership roles, to offer strategic perspective, and to add considerable value to the organizations where I have been employed.

I am so glad I went to UWEC. I didn't want to go to a school where I felt lost in a crowd. Most classes at UWEC are small enough that you get to know the instructor. In your major, you really become close with the staff and others with your major. In fact some of my best friends are those I met at UWEC. I really feel the quality of the staff and the education was amazing. One specific example of this is that, when I started there, I really didn't like to write and was not good at it. I did not have the necessary skills. All of the English instructors were excellent and took the time to help the students get it right. It wasn't always easy, and it took some time, but with the help and direction of the instructors, I graduated with excellent writing abilities, and I now write for a living! I really didn't know which direction to take when starting college, and they helped me find my way. Also there were groups, organizations and activities for every person. I must put a plug in for their foreign language department and the study abroad program. Both are excellent and experiences with them changed my life for the better!! A journey starts with one step, and starting out at UWEC was definitely the right step! You will not be sorry if you choose to go to UWEC!!
