Even though UWA is in a very quiet small town situated in West Central Alabama, the University itself is very big, and I don't mean by enrollment numbers either. I mean it is big in regards to closeness, bonding, caring and experiencing with your fellow classmates as well as friends. It is really one big happy family. Everyone seems to know one another, and having been a student there during my undergrad days as well as being a member of Delta Chi fraternity, it was the best time of my life. When I look back, I do not look back to High School or to my time after college, I look back at my time and the friends for life I made at UWA. Go Tigers!

The University of West Alabama's Online School Counselor program was exactly what I needed to further my career. I chose the online program because I was working full-time and had three sons at home. I got the degree I desired with the flexible schedule I needed.

UWA is an NCAA Division II, regional state university, one that is tucked away in the tree-lined heartland of West Alabama. Being exactly opposite to nationally-renowned Auburn University on the East side of the State, little UWA is a gem-dandy private-college education at a state-funded price. Being only 60 miles down the interstate from The Capstone Experience in Tuscaloosa, UWA is a much more affordable undergraduate degree, compared to the more expensive glamour of the over-priced national State Universities of AU & UA. If the tradition of a traditional in-state university is the life-blood of Higher Education in the U.S., then look no further than the traditional Alabama cultural experience of the Pride of the Blackbelt: The University of West Alabama, where a normal college education experience is Above the Norm.
