School Description

The University of Nottingham was founded in 1881, as the first civic college in Nottingham. In 1948, it officially became the University of Nottingham. Since that day, the university has continue to expand by adding the Medical School and School of Veterinary Medicine and Science in 1970.

The University of Nottingham has over 42,000 students. Many famous names have passed through the university doors over the years. Some of these include Nottingham born writer DH Lawrence, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and three Nobel Prize winners.
