University of Glasgow - College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences

UoG was established in 1862 as the independent Glasgow Veterinary College, later in 2010 it became a constituent school of the new College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. The veterinary school is one of the only six in the UK. The main Garscube House had been used as a hospital during the Second World War. Notable alumni : John A. Gilruth, Manda Scott, writer, Veterinary Surgeons, authors and television presenters Eddie Straiton and David Taylor, of "The TV Vet" and "The Zoo Vet" respectively.
