            1977-1980, B.Sc

            Great memories, inspired my career

UEA was a small new concrete landscape when I started there in 1977 in the School of Chemical Sciences. But my three years there opened my eyes to the emerging environmental revolution. The School of Environmental Sciences was already a leading centre of thought leadership, not least because of its world renowned Climatic Research Unit (CRU). I took the first year foundation course, to go hand in hand with my two core chemistry units, and was hooked. I changed to a Joint Honours and did two thirds Env units for the rest my time there. This allowed me to do a Masters in Meteorology and Climatology at Birmingham, which subsequently opened the door to a career in environmental and sustainability consulting. This was so long ago that at the time there was more talk in CRU about the coming ice age than global warming! It was also the time of Blondie, Costello, Ian Dury, 2 Tone, recession, power cut black outs and Barclays anti-apartheid boycotts. Memories ...... UEA had a real village culture and benefited enormously from Norwich as its host city. I hope it has retained all that as it has grown bigger.

The best university in international commercial law

UEA is not only a place for academic study, where students normally attend lectures and seminars and study in libraries, it is a venue for outstanding and brilliant minds with wonderful nature and lake surrounding it 365 days a year and 24 hours a day. The Norwich Law School is of particular interest and importance. It has so far attracted so many leading experts in international commercial law, which are now become worldwide leading scholars in their respective fields. If you are considering becoming a true scholar and outstanding expert in your field, UEA is the right place to pursue your dreams.
