            2010-2014, Bachelor of Arts (BA)

The first impression this school makes is the size and beauty of this campus. The campus is in its own niche away from the city on top of a hill. Everyone you meet is either a student, staff or faculty member. Learning in an environment surrounded by redwoods and a knoll overlooking the Monterey Bay is truly enlightening. Each campus has its own personality and theme that can suit the individual's interests. The dorms also have a different feel as well. I had some professors that were dedicated to teaching and their students. My interest in education grew as an upperclassman and the school offered many opportunities to gain experience teaching and working in the local K-12 system. I realized my passion was teaching while attending this school and am still following it to this day. UCSC offered an experience that I would never forget. I was exposed to many different beliefs, mindsets and also developed an appreciation for nature.

            2000-2004, Bachelor of the Arts

There are so many great things at UC Santa Cruz. I went to Crown College back in 2000 and was completely engulfed in redwood trees. I had some of the best teachers I've ever had who inspired me to be a better person and always strive for greatness. I took part in their amazing education abroad program and lived in Barcelona, Spain for 9 months. By the time my education was done, I felt more than prepared to take on the real world. UC Santa Cruz has a great culture and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic education.

            1986-1988, Bachelor of the Arts

At UCSC I was inspired by world-class biology professors like the late Harry Beevers, plant physiologist. I changed my career goals from medical doctor to forest ecologist under their influence. I spent a life-changing semester abroad in Costa Rica with the UC Education Abroad Program that affirmed my decision. I am very grateful to UCSC!
