United States Merchant Marine Academy - Master's Degree

The United States Merchant Marine Academy is one of the five U.S. service academies. The school educates and graduates licensed Merchant Marine officers to serve America’s marine transportation and defense needs in peace and war. The Academy's four-year program is known for its academic rigor.

School Description

The USMMA was established to train officers in the merchant marine. Notable graduates of the academy include: Joseph B. Williams - First African-American graduate and New York State Supreme Court Judge, Robert Kiyosaki - Author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad books, and Mark E. Kelly – retired US Navy captain and Space Shuttle pilot. USMMA intercollegiate sports teams are called the Mariners and they compete in the NCAA Division III athletic teams.

    This program is designed to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of Science. The program offers courses that focus on the study of general sciences including physics, chemistry, nutrition, biology, and environmental science.
