School Description

Formerly named the University of Deseret, the University of Utah classes were initially held in private homes. In 1853, the university had to be closed due to the lack of funds, but then it was re-established in 1867. The university then began to operate out of the Union Academy Building and then to the Union Square in 1884. Finally in 1900, the school moved to its current location.
