Great SchoolI loved that all of my professors in the Biology and the Chemistry and Biochemistry departments all had several years of real world experience, and that most conducted ongoing research. Also, attending school on top of a hill, with the Biology department on one side of the campus and the Chemistry department on the other side kept me in shape (some count this sort of thing as a negative but I really enjoyed it).

A Social Haven Serving Up OpportunityEveryone talks about the beauty of San Marcos and the plethora of local activities convenient to students. However, the real draw to Texas State University is the opportunities provided to students to start and excel in a career. I have never had a better chance to connect with company executives and involve myself in internships, jobs, and organizations that provide skills enticing to growing companies. This coupled with the diverse, comfortable, and highly social aspect on campus gives individuals the confidence that any employer would appreciate!

A remarkable university in such a fabulous locationI had the time of my life while attending Texas State University (then called Southwest Texas State University). I transferred from a community college called College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas in fall semester of 1987 and continued my undergraduate studies and completed in May 1989. I had wonderful and attentive and engaging professors who made learning an enjoyable experience. I also participated in numerous student and social activities and made numerous friends and acquaintances which I will treasure for the rest of my life. Texas State University offers numerous recreational, cutlural and social activities and is in a remarkable part of the state of Texas in the Hill Country coveniently located between Austin and San Antonio. I would highily recommend this university to prospective and future students.
