School Description

State University of New York at New Paltz traces its roots back to 1828, with the founding of the New Paltz Classical School. Since then, the university has been recognized for achievements and has been listed among the 100 Best Values in Public College by Kiplinger, and it is also climbing the rankings for the best public regional universities in the Northeast of the US.

            New Paltz worked for me!Got a great and entirely useful 'creative writing' BA from New Paltz (which led to, I think, a pretty successful career in advertising, marketing, etc.) Also loved the region (trails, winding back roads, access to the Hudson and NYC). And, best of all, met my spouse Lisa there, to boot. I would recommend SUNY New Paltz to anyone seeking a solid Liberal Arts education in a beautiful part of the world!

            SUNY New Paltz was a great school for me.I studied there twice. I did my MFA in Ceramics in the 70's and it was the best fit for me. My artistic style was nurtured and I grew into the best artist I could be under the teachers I studied under. I went back to New Paltz to get a degree in graphic design recently and the program was great for me. I love SUNY New Paltz.
