St. Mary’s University - Master's Degree
St. Mary's University was founded by Brothers of the Society of Mary (Marianists) as St. Mary's Institute with only 5 faculty members and 12 enrolled boys in its first batch. St. Mary's Institute was renamed to St. Mary's College in 1882. Over the decade between 1890 and 1900, St. Mary's College started operating as a junior college with a full-fledged college curriculum allowing it to offer its first four-year bachelor's degree programmes. St. Mary's College was awarded 'University' status and the school came to be known as St. Mary's University from 1927 onwards. In the year 1967, the school became a co-educational institute and started offering courses at graduate level.
St. Mary's University is ranked #3 in west region for best value by US News and World Report, 2017. St. Mary's University offers master's degree programmes through its four academic schools viz; Greehey School of Business, School of Humanities, Social Sciences and School of Science Engineering and Technology and School of Law. St. Mary's University is home to 400 graduate students of which more than 200 are registered full-time and about 200 are part-time. St. Mary's University faculty members hold the highest level qualification in their field of specialization.
