School Description

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - (RCSI) is the only specialist health sciences higher education institution in Ireland. RCSI's School of Postgraduate Studies delivers higher degrees (MD, MCh, and MSc) through research and taught masters programs within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Students can choose to pursue a higher degree by research including Masters in Surgery (one-year MCh) and Masters in Science by Research (one-year MSc) or pursue a taught masters program.

Studying at a master's level at RCSI offers students excellent opportunities to develop as leaders in their chosen field, pursue a variety of careers and take advantage of career-enhancing mobility and progression. Some notable RCSI alumni include Professor Ara Darzi, the Chair of Surgery at Imperial College London; and Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the first female Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
