The University attained its current name in honor of Dr Rosalind Franklin, whose works in X-ray crystallography provided the basis for the structure of the DNA. Today, the Rosalind Franklin University is made up of five dedicated medical colleges, namely: The Chicago Medical School, The College of Pharmacy, The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and; The College of Health Professions
