Nova Scotia College of Art & Design University - Master's Degree

NSCAD University is an specialized art institute of higher education located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. NSCAD University offers two master's degree programmes at the graduate level studies. NSCAD University programmes are recognized by the Department of Labour and Advanced Education, Nova Scotia, NSCAD University (NSCAD).

School Description

NSCAD University was founded in the year 1887 by Anna Leonowens as the Victoria School of Art and Design to commemorate Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. The school was renamed to Nova Scotia College of Art in 1925 before being renamed to Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1969. In the same year, NSCAD started offering bachelor degree programmes. In 2003 the school was given 'University' status and it was renamed to NSCAD University.

Today, NSCAD University has expanded its education network throughout downtown Halifax with two satellite campuses namely; Academy building and Port Campus started in 2003 and 2007 respectively. NSCAD offers a Master of Fine Arts(MFA) and a Master of Design degree programmes at graduate level. NSCAD is recognized as one of Canada's oldest independent cultural institution.
