New York Film Academy (NYFA) is home to students from over 80 countries. At NYFA's Los Angeles and South Beach campuses, students can choose from a wide range of master's degree programs including Film and Media Production, Screenwriting, Photography, Documentary, and Game Design.
Established in 1992, NYFA prepares students into becoming world-class visual storytellers through a mixture of traditional film school approach and hands-on experience. Students write, produce, direct, and edit their own original films, as well as, serving as crew members on other student's films to gain extensive on-set experience. NYFA Los Angeles campus does not have on-campus accommodation but the Housing Department helps students find a residential housing near the campus. Some of NYFA's notable alumni are Shaquille O'Neal, a famous basketball player turned into analyst for TNT’s Inside the NBA; Laura Snow, associate producer of Peabody Award nominee, Newtown; Emily Morrow, assistant production coordinator of the final two films of Twilight Saga series; and Naya Rivera, known for her role as Santana on “Glee”.
