School Description

Kingston University London was established in 1899 and previously named 'Kingston Technical Institute'. Kingston University London initially offered Chemistry, Electrical wiring to Nursing, Clay modelling and Dressmaking. By 1930, 'Kingston School of Art' was established separately. With constant developments, mergers and campuses in different locations, it was formally founded as Kingston University in 1992. The university alone has up to 29,000 students as of 2015, from both UK and overseas, which has been a factor in economic growth. 

Today, Kingston University London enrolled over 17,547 students in 2017 from over 140 countries. The Times/The Sunday Times Guide placed Kingston University at no. 102 in 2018. In 2017. Kingston was ranked 1st out of 121 institutions for its graphic design and product design courses by The Guardian in 2017. The university holds a number of links with institutions from around the world to share teaching and research and facilitate staff and student exchanges.
