John Brown University - Master's Degree
John Brown University (JBU), founded in 1919, is named for John Brown, a brilliant administrator and scholar who dedicated his family farm to open a school for those who could not afford an education. Within a year, the school enrolled 150 students at the college and academy levels. The College continued to grow and develop over the years, and in 1934, the Arkansas State Department of Education granted the institution a charter which incorporated it into four-year university, hence forth taking on the name of John Brown University.
Today JBU serves more than 2,700 students from 42 states in the US and 39 countries. The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission in addition to having accreditations for its various programs. Although a Christian university JBU has no denominational affiliation and admits students of any faith. The University also has two endowed, associated centers that address two pressing needs of these times: the need for strong marriages and families, and for ethical business leaders.
