School Description

The Mission of the Institute of Technology Carlow to Engage, Learn, Challenge and Innovate is articulated through an educational environment and context where learners pursue studies in higher education and research up to doctoral level. Since its founding in 1970, Institute of Technology Carlow has generated more than 50,000 graduates. It currently ranks as the 4th largest of Ireland’s 14 institutes of technology (IoT) with more than 7,000 enrolments and employs 800 staff.

Our graduates enjoy an employment rate of 93% at graduation, rising to 96% within six months of graduating - well above the national average of 80%. Our graduates can be found working with some of the world's most prestigious companies. The Sunday Times University Guide awarded the Institute of Technology Carlow the title of ‘Institute of Technology of the Year 2014’.

            IT Carlow - Best of both worlds!

            Great college for both the Educational & Social aspects of student life. The lecturers are extremely helpful & organised in the structure of the syllabus. Also just a great atmosphere around the campus - lots of social events & clubs to keep you occupied when you need a break from the books.
