School Description

Harvard Business School – formerly Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration – was established in 1908 with 80 students: 33 regular and 47 special; and 15 faculty members. While other US universities started offering business training as early as 1886, Harvard sought to establish business as a profession, hence it became the country’s first business program for college graduates. The School established its Doctoral Program in 1922 and also founded the school’s magazine the Harvard Business Review the same year. In 1924 the School adopted the case method as its primary method of instruction; and in 1945 the School introduced its first executive education program.

Today the Harvard Business School has almost 2000 student admitted in its MBA program; almost 7000 in its Executive Education Open Enrolment Programs; more than 3,200 in its Executive Custom Programs; and 25 students enrolled in its doctorate program. Some of Harvard Business School’s notable alumni include: George W. Bush, 43rd President of the US; Sheryl Sandberg, COO, Facebook and Stephen Covey, American author, his most popular book was The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and Ratan Tata, Chairman and CEO, Tata Sons, among others.
