It's the PeopleYYThere's a lot of things that set CMC apart from other colleges/universities: the SoCal weather, the diverse faculty, the small college advantages within the larger 5C community, the vibrant social scene on campus. But like any great organization, it's the people that make it special. In such a varied and collaborative community, it wasn't hard to find inspiration as a student. The great pride former CMCers have for their alma mater says it all!

Five in OneYYThere are many things that make CMC great (terrific students, active and supportive alumni, outstanding faculty, growing endowment, and fabulous southern CA location), but one of the things that makes CMC a value-add is the "5 C" experience - which is being able to take classes at the other institutions in the Claremont Consortium - Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Pomona, and Scripps Colleges - as well as the Claremont Graduate School. While each of the schools are relatively small and have their own very individual personalities and strengths, attending any of them allows you to take classes at the others - which is something rare in academia, and particularly in one cohesive, local setting.

Preparation for the real worldYYCMC had the unique combination of academic professors with real life experience. As a student, you got both the intellectual and practical application aspects. Your fellow students primarily came from the real and practical world and were sufficiently diverse so one could experience both scope and matter. It was in combination, a rare and highly valuable mix.
