Originally founded as Sacramento State College on Sept. 22, 1947, during a time of intense demand for higher education after World War II, Sacramento State shared space with Sacramento Junior College. Sacramento State's first semester of classes consisted of 235 students enrolled in 44 sections.

            I am a transfer student from San Diego, in my first year at Sac State. I can already see why this school has such a long history of academic success. There are so many resources for students that it is hard not to be successful! Any questions or concerns I have had about transferring credits or what classes to take have been answered by the wonderful faculty on campus.
