I didn't fully realize the value of the education and training I got out of BC until parents of potential university students started coming to me to recommend the university I attended to their children. I never forget to add "Nil Sine Magno Labore" to the youngsters as part of the recommendation.

Brooklyn College is a senior college of the City University of New York. Established in 1930 by the New York City Board of Higher Education, The 26-acre campus is known for its great beauty, and is often regarded as "the poor man's Harvard" because of its low tuition and reputation for academic excellence. The school was ranked as the most beautiful campus and in the top ten for value, diversity, and location by The Princeton Review in 2003 and in the top fifty for value in 2009.

          • Testimony
            , Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

I grew up in Brooklyn. To me, Brooklyn College was just the neighborhood college. In fact, it was right next to my high school, so technically it was just the "much bigger school next door." But it is a first class learning institution ("who knew?" as my grandmother would say). The campus is beautiful, big and lively, but it doesn't feel overwhelming. Public transportation is great. I loved the diversity of Brooklyn College: it was an intimate school that felt like an international city. Don't be a stranger -- pay it a visit sometime (yes, that was my grandmother again).
