            My Alma Mater

I absolutely loved my time at AU both in the 1990's as a young college student and again as an adult when I finally graduated! Excellent academics without being overwhelmed by the huge university setting.

            FOUND MYSELF

I had the time of my life at AC. I met amazing people, I got my first B in a class, that was History!!! I had the opportunity to learn that I was dyslexic (which didn't define me, but understanding that I wasn't a lazy learner as I'd been told all my life empowered me to learn more) and that was because Dr. Hughey took excellent care of his students. He knew I had to pass College Algebra in order to graduate, and he taught basic math...which I took 4 times in order to pass it and each time was with him...he scheduled himself to teach the College Algebra class for me, so that I could pass and graduate. I learned more about myself there than I could have ever imagined. I took a Public Speaking Class, that has done wonders for my life now! Thanks to that class, I'm able to command an audience w/o hesitation, fear or thinking twice! Some of the most valuable lessons were learned in that environment and I carry them with me today. I'm grateful for everyone at AC and I wish I could remember more of the names of the teachers who helped me, but make no mistake, I may not remember your names, and I'm sorry for that, BUT I remember what you did for me, how you made me better and how you improved my life! This recommendation wouldn't be complete without mentioning the roommates, suite mates, RA's, and FRIENDS I made there, those people even more than the teachers helped me socially and brought out the person I am today!!! Thank You All!!! xoE
