Wouldn't Trade It!YI had an amazing experience at Alfred. Where else can you go to school and have three different types of cheesecake - made by the professor - awaiting you after your final exam?! Small classes, engaged faculty, and a wonderful student body make Alfred a great place to spend your undergraduate years. (Not to mention a student aid package that made it less expensive to go to a private institution across the country than to go to school in my home state!)

Strength in THE LACK OF numbersYThere is something about Alfred, no matter what you decide to study, you will experience all you do with a really small group of people with whom you will make life long friendships with. You will laugh, cry, eat, drink, and study together. And at the end of it all, you will excel together. I am absolutely sure that had I gone to a bigger school I would have not as been as successful as I was at Alfred because of this phenomenon. My friend Kathy Woughter, who is VP of Student Affairs at Alfred University hit the nail on the head when she said "Here’s generally the way I think about Alfred’s greatest strength. We take students who may not generally have considered themselves leaders and make them exceptional." I so believe this. And I've seen it happen to my two children who attended Alfred University.

Excellent experience and a great value.YI had a really great experience at Alfred. I received both my degrees from AU and the time I spent on campus contributed so much to my professional development. Small class sizes taught by experienced professors made it a very intimate learning experience. A diverse student body, many leadership opportunities and exposure to fantastic programs on campus (visiting artists, musicians and speakers) always made each and every day fulfilling. It's located in a beautiful location in Western New York and clearly has that small but highly academic campus feel. I cannot recommend it enough.
