The program offers courses that focus on the study of the design and provision of teaching including other educational services for infant and preschool aged children with special learning needs or disabilities.

The first library on the campus was built with funds from the Carnegie Foundation in 1904 for 12,000, and was named for its benefactor, Andrew Carnegie. In the 1940s, it was remodeled at a cost of 70,000 and provided additional book stacks and reading rooms.

The Sociology Department did an excellent job preparing me for graduate school and the master's program in sociology. The faculty not only taught, but they also mentored you in a way that prepared you for the real world. Thanks to their mentoring, I was successful at the next level, graduate school.
