Loyola Marymount University
Loyola Marymount University was founded in 1911 in the two traditions of education associated with the names Loyola and Marymount. The two institutions, Loyola University and Marymount College, both had their own journey through growth and development but shared the same faculties and facilities for about five years, after which it united in 1973 to form the Loyola Marymount University that it is today.
At present, Loyola Marymount University's blufftop campus in Los Angeles spans 142 acres of beautiful greenery that attracts over 9,000 students annually, 9.7% of which are international students from across the globe. Composed of 7 schools and colleges, Loyola Marymount University offers over 50 bachelor's and 39 master's degree programs in areas of liberal arts, business administration, communication and fine arts, law school, education, film and television, science and engineering. The campus also accommodates approximately 3,200 students living in one of the university's 19 housing options, from on-campus residence halls, suites, apartments, and houses for freshmen and uppcerclassmen alike.
