Wrexham Glyndwr University is a relatively new university, having attained university status in 2008. It was originally founded in 1887 as Wrexham School of Science and Art. Over the years, it had two more name changes and a few relocations, before finally becoming Glyndwr University in 2008. The main campus is in Wrexham, with two more campuses in Wales and one campus in London. The university has 9000 students with many international students from different areas of the world that include Japan, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
The diversity within Wrexham Glyndwr University is a reflection of the city of Wrexham itself, that also has a diverse community. The university has a special international welcome evening for its incoming international students, with plenty of events throughout the year to get you involved in the university and the city. There is also an International Student Welfare Team that is there to assist the international students, from enrollment all the way to graduation.
