College of DuPage
School Description
College of DuPage was founded in 1967. Having had its first classes in office trailers across the Community College District 502, the students, faculty and staff became known as 'road runners' because they had to drive around to each class. In 1968 COD acquired the site for its campus, and completed the construction of three buildings on that campus a year later. Notable Alumni of COD include comedian brothers John and Jim Belushi.
College of DuPage is the second largest provider of undergraduate education in the state of Illinois. It has over 28,000 students and over 60 clubs and organizations. The Field and Experiential Learning, Study Abroad and Global Education program at COD consists of three areas, and offers student a wide range of activities. The Field and Experiential Learning allows the students to earn credits both in the classroom and through field experience. Study Abroad allows the students to take a language course in a foreign country, all while experiencing a new culture. And Global Education celebrates different world cultures by hosting different events on campus.
