Centenary College

School Description

Centenary University was founded by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church in the year 1867 as co-educational preparatory school, but the turn of the century opened opportunities for changes and developments for the institution, evolving to a girl's preparatory school to a junior college for women, a four-year women's college in the late 1970s, and finally a coeducational university in 2016.

Today Centenary University enrolls more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students studying in over 10 academic divisions including business, communication & fine arts, education, English & foreign languages, equine studies, mathematics & natural sciences, psychology & counseling, and social sciences for undergraduates and business, counseling, education, and leadership & public administration for postgraduates. Its campus houses 8 residence halls with a capacity of 700 students.
