Religion (Capital University)
Capital University offers several BA degrees based in religion, including emphases in worship ministries and Christian education. The 42-credit religion program provides students with opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of the role of religion in societal contexts and will ultimately give students the ability to articulate and defend religious ideas and beliefs. Faculty in the religion program come from a variety of disciplines, adding depth to the exploration of religious beliefs in world cultures. The pre-seminary program at Capital allows students from any undergraduate major to work towards education and employment in professional ministry settings, while the religion major allows students to pursue personal interests in ethics, history, and philosophy of religion.
As a major factor in understanding culture, religion plays a big role in the determination of ethical public policy. Students of the religion program at Capital University can expect to have opportunities to articulate and understand their own views, as well as develop the capacity to think critically about ethical and moral conflicts to prepare for leadership roles in society.
