Psychology (Capital University)
During Capital University’s psychology program, students will not only learn the theories that surround the science but also how to apply it on a professional and research level. This major requires 42 course hours and takes about two years to complete. By graduation, students will have presented their own unique research and may have even participated in local internships.
Students will take courses and seminars on ethics, research methods and the history of psychology during their two years of study. Different classes will also delve into the different theories of the field, including biological, cognitive and clinical psychology. Other courses, such as abnormal and developmental psychology, also broaden students’ awareness of the science. It is during their final stages of study that students will conduct their own research and presentation of their findings.
This program prepares students for graduate-level programs as well as a related professional career. A minor is also encouraged so students can be as prepared as possible for the workforce.
