English Literature (Capital University)
With a focus on interpretation of significant literary contributions from transatlantic and global authors, Capital University’s BA in English literature is a four-year program designed to give participants a broad understanding of literature’s role in understanding culture. Through the study and analysis of a wide range of works, the 48-credit curriculum aims to produce graduates with insightful analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and provide leadership in a variety of fields.
This program offers a flexible path for students to experience courses related to their interests. With an emphasis on the study of how literature relates to history, religion, and culture, this program gives participants the opportunity to develop important skills and understanding that will benefit them in graduate studies as well as a career in business or public policy. This major can also be completed with the Adolescent to Young Adult Education licensure program for Integrated Language Arts, which will prepare graduates to become licensed language arts teachers for grades 7-12.
