Chemistry (Capital University)
The four-year chemistry program consists of small group learning about various chemicals and how they interact. Students typically take around 12 credits a semester and study courses in fundamental liberal arts as well as the sciences. Some areas of study include physical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry, biology, calculus, physics, biochemistry and analytical chemistry.
Students in the program will be exposed to a wide variety of learning techniques. These include chemistry workshops, lectures, laboratory study, research, capstone projects and internships. The four years of instruction help prepare students for their senior research projects, in which they conduct in-depth research and present the technical findings to the faculty.
The completion of a chemistry degree can lead to a number of post-graduate options. Some students go on to earn their doctorate or master’s degrees. Others enter into a professional program such as medical school. Others take jobs at top corporations where they completed their undergraduate internships.
