International Business (California State University - Long Beach)
The international business degree from California State University, Long Beach, is a four-year program that consists of 120 units. It includes lower-division and upper-division classes, including Elementary Financial Accounting, Business Finance, and a Capstone course, such as Principles of Marketing.
The international business degree prepares students to work in the global business world by teaching American students how to complete business in other parts of the world, especially where U.S. markets have firms in foreign countries. Students learn now only about the business practices of other countries, but also about their business and personal customs, their geography, and their language.
Students who take these courses work in a variety of cross-border finance positions. They may become financial analysts, stockbrokers, or trade specialists. They may work with exporting and importing goods, creating licensing and franchising contracts, or forming sales, manufacturing, and distribution facilities in world markets.
The program is designed to teach students not only how to handle business interactions professionally but how to live and work in countries other than their own.
