Program Description
The 4-year BS human resources program at California State University, Long Beach requires the completion of 120 credit hours. The program prepares students to develop business strategies that allow them to effectively manage the development of an organization’s employees from overseeing the initial hiring process to mediating any conflicts that might ensue. Classes will equip participants with both practical skills that they can apply to the workplace in their future careers and theoretical knowledge that will help them to gain a deeper understanding of their role and its importance within organizations.
Throughout the program, students will take a variety of business administration classes such as accounting, economics, business statistics, management communications, marketing and more to help them gain a thorough understanding of a business career. Additionally, program participants will take courses that develop their comprehension of the human resource management process, including topics that revolve around compensation, administration, staffing, diversity and labor-management relations.
