Program Description

Design can be one of the most lucrative creative fields taught to scholars at California State University, Long Branch. With three esteemed undergraduate design majors to choose from, there are multiple exciting tracks to success in the industry.

A Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design or a Bachelor of Arts in Design each require 120 university units or roughly four years of focused study. A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design requires slightly more at 133 university units, also attainable in four years.

A career in design invites daily collaboration and criticism. As such, design coursework at CSULB balances time in the lecture setting and studio space, giving students regular opportunities to discuss their thinking. In addition, education is often taken outside of the traditional scope, inviting professionals to visit hardworking scholars in the school environment or steering students away from university for a time to experience design in the outside world.
