Program Description

California State University, Long Beach, offers a computer engineering program that helps students along their paths to successful careers in computers and electronics, where they may work for technology companies or in fields such as healthcare. Students who attend the undergraduate program learn in a hands-on environment that teaches critical thinking, design, and problem-solving, not to mention the ethics required for students to become employable.

The computer engineering program, which requires 120 credit hours, or about four years of schooling, is a bachelor's degree that creates a solid foundation of computer programming, system-on-chip design, microprocessors, embedded systems, and more. Elective courses including artificial intelligence, software engineering, and much more. Upon graduation from the undergraduate program, students can choose to move on to a graduate program or to enter the workforce directly.

Students earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering can choose to participate in several minor programs as well. Options for minor programs are computer science, cybersecurity applications, and web technologies and applications.
