School Description

Boston Architectural College (BAC) was founded in 1889 as a club for practicing architects. BAC is an independent, professional college with an aim to provide education which is a combination of academic learning and innovative experiential learning. BAC maintains close ties with Boston’s professional design community. BAC students are mentored and taught by more than 400 practicing professionals. BAC’s campus is situated in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay and is surrounded by beautiful architecture, museums, performance venues, colleges and universities.

Along with onsite degrees BAC also offers distance graduate degrees as well as pioneering programs in sustainable design, historic preservation and design for human health. One of BAC’s operational aims is to make the profession of designing accessible to all sectors of the community, which is why it exercises a policy for open admission.
