Baruch College was founded in 1847 as a Free Academy and the first free public college in the nation. The College was originally founded as the Business College of the City College of New York. Today it is one of New York City’s flagship public colleges.
Baruch College comprises of three schools: the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences offers over 50 areas of study within the liberal arts; the Zicklin School of Business, is the largest accredited collegiate school of business in the United States; and the School of Public Affairs is widely recognised in the areas of municipal government, nonprofit and educational administration, and policy analysis and evaluation.
