One of Wheaton College in Massachusetts’ oldest traditions (which dates back 20 years) is a boat race known as the ‘Head of the Peacock regatta’. As part of this tradition, students fashion their own homemade boats and try to keep them afloat as they race them on Peacock Pond.

Fantastic Education
While Wheaton has a small campus, it is a great place to education your mind in a safe, pretty setting. The professors were so wonderful I could not decide which subject to major in. Their enthusiasm for the topics came through in the lessons, and their joy rubbed off on me. Additionally, the work center, athletics department, and department that approves fellowships, all took care of me; Wheaton's staff really cares about it's students.

Wheaton College is a COMMUNITY
The first time someone sets foot on our campus, it generally feels like home. We have such warm and welcoming faculty and staff that it NATURALLY transcends to the student body and subsequently to the alumnae. As a foundation for the WORLD CLASS education we provide that is on par with the likes of Bowden, Amherst and Swarthmore, the Connections Curriculum teaches our students how to draw inferences between ALL of the disciplines of the Liberal Arts in order to make a MORE ENLIGHTENED graduate who can excel in ANY field once having completed the rigorous but enjoyable studies offered by the VERY BEST faculty assembled at any higher educational entity, EVEN Ivy League institutions. Our students REGULARLY win Fulbright, Truman, Rhodes and other scholarships having competed with the world's best minds (other than their own) to be able to conduct research at the post-graduate level.

A small school filled with possibilities
When I was looking at colleges it was my wish to find a small school where I would not get lost in the shuffle. As it turns out, Wheaton was the perfect place. The day of my tour I could not get the campus out of my mind. When I became a student I felt like the whole world was at my fingertips. I remember being an art student, working long but amazing hours in the Mars Arts & Humanities studios and taking classes in the English department. I never got lost in the shuffle, I never felt like I didn't have a voice. Wheaton is one of the main reasons I am who I am today. For that I owe them a great debt of gratitude.
