School Description
Westminster College was established in 1851 by Rev. William W. Robertson and the local Presbyterians. It was initially known as Fulton College, but changed its name to what it is known as today in 1853. The college has played host to many world leaders, including Winston Churchill, who delivered his famous Iron Curtain speech on campus. Having been an all-male institution from the beginning, the college became co-educational in 1979.
Westminster College has a student body of 950 students. International students make up 14% of that figure, and they represent 70 different countries. The college requires bachelor degree seeking students to live in one of the residence halls. Students have plenty of opportunities to be involved on campus with over 50 student organizations available, which include the African Union Organization, Anime Club, Break Dance Club, and the International Club.

Westminster students learn how to solve mysteries
Most colleges and universities today teach students to merely solve puzzles, not mysteries. At Westminster, students learn how to solve both, which I believe is the essence of a Westminster liberal arts education. Puzzles can be solved by gathering facts and analyzing alternative solutions, but mysteries are different. Facts and analysis are necessary, but not sufficient; solving a mystery also requires judgment. Most of the world's -- and most of life's -- real problems are mysteries, not puzzles. Westminster prepares students to live in and help solve the mysteries they will face in a global society.

I love this college!
At Westminster College my intellect was challenged, my imagination was freed, and my passions were set ablaze. Here I made lifelong friendships that have sustained me. Here I thrived in the glow of mentors who sparked confidence and convictions. My appreciation of those who shaped my collegiate odyssey is only exceeded by the profound gratitude I have for my mother and father. My parents’ love and sacrifice allowed me to realize my Westminster College dream, which has been one of the greatest blessings in my life.
