Superior college education
I went to Penn State for 1.5 years and never could figure out the massive 400 student classes. W&J offers a small college education that I found superior to the big school. Small classes, much more classroom participation and thought development, real testing of knowledge (not multiple guessing) and engaging professors. They were tough but personable. Even had a class where the professor accepted that I was the only student enrolled. How could one not learn and excel in a one on one with the professor? I particularly liked the atmosphere of the college in a small county seat town, quite appealing. This will be a great experience for your college education. Don't hesitate to choose W&J. Go far.

Washington & Jefferson College has a great sense of community. This is fostered by a small school experience, along with small class sizes. The professors on campus are absolutely incredible. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help a student. They genuinely care and want you to succeed in their class! As an International student, coming from a small high school, I knew I wanted to attend a small liberal arts college. One of my college highlights has been a personal interaction with my professors and also taking a holistic approach to my education, acquiring knowledge in a broad range of disciplines, including Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences , Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The college offers plenty of opportunities to students. Studying abroad is a given at W&J. In fact, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones to encounter new experiences. A unique feature ascribing to the W&J's values, being a global citizen, is embodied through the Magellan Project. The Magellan project provides students with the support and funding necessary to pursue their own self-designed summer research projects. Through the funding of the project, I was able to shadow and work with an International boutique law firm between Italy and the United States.
