School Description

University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) has a history that can be traced back to two institutions: Prince of Wales College (founded in 1834) and St Dunstan’s University (founded in 1855). The University, under the name of University of Prince Edward Island welcomed its first students in 1969

Over the years, the University has evolved tremendously and today has a campus with 28 academic, administration, residential and athletic buildings. Today the University offers a wide range of programs and degrees at an undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level; and is home to approximately 4,400 students and 1,100 faculty and research staff; UPEI’s international student body hails from close to 70 countries.
